Abbey you would be 9 years old today and telling me how hot it is while sporting some sassy outfit and some fancy sandels. Most likely, we would have the spinkler's turned on in the front yard and you and your sisters would be running through them laughing and giggling all afternoon. Tonight we would go to Grace's violin concert and then out for ice cream, your favorite...
On June 11th Abbey's Hope Charitable Foundation will proudly present our 2nd "Spring into Summer Safety Event" at the Edina Aquatic Center. This event would not be possible if it wasn't for the time and talents put forward by you! Choosing to participate in the event whether as a "Safety Vender", an event volunteer, or an attendee you allow us the opportunity to keep kids safe. To keep...
Two years ago today a family gave us an incredible, unimaginable gift. The gift of hope and life for Abbey. In their personal grief and tragedy they thought of someone other than themselves. In a moment none of us would ever want believe could happen, they donated their child's organs to others including Abbey. It gave us hope at a time which was clouded by numerous trips to the hospital...
I wanted to share this blog post with you because I continue to be amazed by the number of people who have been touched by Abbey's story.

A belated but special thanks to the Walser Foundation, especially Paul and Andrew Walser, Andrea and...
I posted a story today showing a report of their findings in the most recent incident involving a child being trapped by a drain. If you read it, it says the pool was using VGB compliant drain covers for its two main drains but that a vacumm hose on the side of the pool had been left uncovered and there were several other broken drain covers in the pool as well.
This is the most...
I posted a story tonight about a community in Indiana. The Forest Park Pool in Brazil City Indiana is now compliant as the pool closes for the season. Which means it was not in compliance all season long. Read this paragraph from the article, Brazil City Parks Board President Ruthann Jeffries believes only 30 percent of Indiana pools were compliant with the law at the beginning of the...
As you may have seen by now, our family was featured in a new section of the Sunday paper. The reached out to us several weeks ago and we were able to get the photo taken before we left. We were honored once again to be considered for something like this and welcome any opportunity to keep promoting our message of pool safety and increased pool drain awareness.

Abbey's Hope Charitable Foundation had the opportunity to spend the weekend at the Western Swim League CHAMPS meet at Interlachen Country Club in Edina. This was a wonderful opportunity to get out in the community and raise awareness through the foundation. We also got to cheer on Grace (our oldest daughter) and her teammates. Having attended many meets I also brought a bag of tricks…a...
It has been a busy few days for Abbey's Hope. Most of you may have seen the Today show, MSNBC and several affiliate stations carried the story that has become our legacy. If not the story will be posted to our website or http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/...
