Abbey's Hope Charitable Foundation had the opportunity to spend the weekend at the Western Swim League CHAMPS meet at Interlachen Country Club in Edina. This was a wonderful opportunity to get out in the community and raise awareness through the foundation. We also got to cheer on Grace (our oldest daughter) and her teammates. Having attended many meets I also brought a bag of tricks…a dragonfly art project for the kids to do between races. They decorated the tree's and our tent it was wonderful!
The support of the swimming community has always amazed me; parents and children from other teams that had remembered either swimming with Abbey or meeting her two years ago when she was released from the hospital to cheer her sister on at the CHAMPS meet. A wonderful little girl gave me a jar of money from a lemonade stand she had for Abbey's Hope Charitable Foundation. I hope to do her proud and help prevent the preventable.
