Abbey's Hope Golf Tournament UPDATE

By all accounts, the 2nd Annual Abbey's Hope Golf Tournament was a huge success and we want to thank everyone who volunteered, played golf, came to dinner, donated time or items to the auction or gift bags or in anyway participated in making this year's tournament even better than last year's.

Key Biscayne Pool - Required Maintenance vs. VGB

I posted a story today showing a report of their findings in the most recent incident involving a child being trapped by a drain. If you read it, it says the pool was using VGB compliant drain covers for its two main drains but that a vacumm hose on the side of the pool had been left uncovered and there were several other broken drain covers in the pool as well.

Finally some news about someone actually complying with VGB

I posted a story tonight about a community in Indiana. The Forest Park Pool in Brazil City Indiana is now compliant as the pool closes for the season. Which means it was not in compliance all season long.

The Forest Park Pool is now compliant with the 2008 Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act.

"Due to the age of the pool and the odd size of the main drain, we had to fabricate a drain cover to fit," Spear Corporation, Roachdale, representative Ben Fuchs said. "The fact that the pool is aluminum makes it more difficult."
