Abbey's Hope and North Memorial Hospital lead Hennepin County water safety coalition
EDINA, MINN. – April 12, 2012 – Due to an unprecedented number of drownings in the past year in Hennepin County, a new safety coalition coordinated by Abbey’s Hope Charitable Foundation and North Memorial Hospital is holding several events to create awareness about water safety. Abbey’s Hope awards the YMCA $35,000 in grants to promote pool and spa safety
EDINA, MINN. – April 3, 2012 – Abbey’s Hope recently awarded $35,000 in grants to the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities in support of the YMCA’s Water Safety Instruction Program. This partnership, in its third year, allows local children from immigrant and low-income backgrounds to be equipped with basic water safety skills and awareness.
Abbey’s Hope named 2012 National Drowning Prevention Alliance award winner
EDINA, MINN. – March 1, 2012 – The National Drowning Prevention Alliance (NDPA) today announced Abbey’s Hope Charitable Foundation as the recipient of the 2012 Community Lifesaver Award. The award recognizes work done toward the advancement of water safety and drowning prevention at the community level and will be presented March 9 at the annual National Drowning Prevention Symposium in San Diego.

Minnesota Senator Geoff Michel joins Abbey’s Hope Board of Directors
EDINA, MINN. – Jan. 19, 2012 – Abbey’s Hope Charitable Foundation today announces the addition of state Sen. Geoff Michel to its Board of Directors. Sen. Michel was elected in 2002 and is currently in his third term as the District 41 senator.
